Privacy Policy — Hey Baby I'm Hungry

Hey Baby I'm Hungry ("the app," "we," "us") is a couples app that helps partners plan dates, find food, and get meal ideas from what's already in the fridge. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled.

Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address, used to create and sign in to your account via Firebase Authentication.
• Profile information: your nickname, your role in the couple (e.g. husband/wife), food preferences, and a partner-linking code used to connect two accounts as a couple.
• Location: your device's GPS location, used only to suggest nearby date spots and food pickup options. Location is used at the time of each request and is not tracked continuously.
• Chat messages: conversations with the app's in-app advice characters ("Riz Doc" and "Dr. Devo") are stored so you can revisit past conversations.
• Cycle tracking data: if you choose to use the optional cycle/period tracking feature, that information is stored on your account. This is sensitive health information and is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for anything other than showing it back to you (and, if you choose to link accounts, your partner) inside the app.
• Photos (Check Fridge feature): if you use the "snap a photo of your fridge" feature, the photo is sent to our AI service to identify ingredients and is not stored after processing.
• Push notification token: a device token used to deliver reminders and nudges (e.g. date night suggestions).
• Advertising data: the app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data under its own privacy policy to serve and measure ads.

How We Use Information

We use the information above solely to operate the app's features: generating date ideas, food suggestions, and fridge meal ideas; letting you and your partner see each other's shared content; sending optional reminders; and showing ads that help keep the app free.

AI Processing

Date ideas, food suggestions, fridge photo scans, and chat responses are generated using AI models. Some requests are processed by a self-hosted AI service we operate; others use Google's Gemini API. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work: Firebase/Google Cloud (authentication, database, hosting, crash reporting), our AI processing providers, and Google AdMob (advertising). These providers process data on our behalf and under their own privacy and security obligations.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

This app is intended for adult couples and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your Choices

Location access, notifications, and cycle tracking are all optional and can be turned off in your device settings or in the app. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us.
